Pop Up Gallery in Port Clinton
Opens May 2, 2012
The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council (GPCAAC) invites you to “Come Share The Light” at 113 Madison Street Port Clinton, OH on May 2 at 6:00pm for the grand reveal.
Local art enthusiasts Cathy and Bob Adorni, long time friends of the late Thomas Kinkade, and the GPCAAC have POPPED open an art gallery in Historic Downtown Port Clinton showcasing the Adorni’s extensive collection of Thomas Kinkade’s art. Cathy and Bob lived in California for 30 years before moving to Port Clinton in 2006. In 1990 the Adorni’s started to appreciate the talents Thomas had to offer. They met Thom was he was 37 at an event in Van Nuys California and started collecting his art in 1995. In 1997 Bob and Cathy met Rick Barnett, Thomas’s business partner and friend, and immediately formed a friendship. The Adorni’s relationship with Thom and Rick became a personal one, spending time with their friends and family and even traveling with them to Washington D.C. for the presentation of Thom’s Christmas painting to President George Bush at the National Christmas Tree Lighting.
Stop in and see special artwork created just for the Adorni’s by Thom and his children; Thom’s earlier artwork and listen to the fascinating stories they have to offer! Fall in love with some of the art and they might even sell it to you. The gallery will be open for several weeks so check for hours.
